I’ve been pondering over a project idea involving people and their dogs for a while now and sometimes you can think about it and think about it but you really know you just need to get out and start taking some pictures.

So here we are, the very very beginning of a new project called Hounds of Love which is a love letter to all dogs that are always by our sides and have helped us through the best and worst of times. There are over 10 million pet dogs in the UK with 26% of the population owning a dog.
As a dog owner myself I am especially grateful for Wally’s company this year and his relentless need for a routine to get us outside every single day whether I want to or not.

There’s something a bit uncomfortable about sharing the start of a project that hasn’t fully developed but I think I need some accountability to get past the first hurdle of self doubt and talking myself out of it. I have also loved hearing all about each dogs quirks and just how loved they are.

The Allotment Florist, a Yorkshire based florist. I photographed lifestyle images for their online floristry course.

I photographed Angie in her lovely home near Hull on the darkest, rainiest day in January for The Telegraph Magazine. We had a great chat about life and how she had developed an eating disorder in her 40s. She also makes jewellery (pictured) which has been a huge part of her recovery.

The start of a new project with PAFRAS - Positive Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers who are a Leeds based charity. Myself and videographer Zoe East will be embarking on a project with the Young Migrants Matters initiative. Very excited to see what we can produce together

Product design studio, Studio Levien have designed a beautiful China dinner set for MADE.com. I headed to Studio Levien HQ to photograph the ideas and research process for the collection ahead of the launch.
