Angel Lane Chippie in Penrith photographed for Grace Dent’s review in Guardian Feast. I can confirm, they are excellent chips
In August I spent a couple of days in Liverpool photographing the Art in Recovery workshops run by Bravo 22 and The Royal British Legion. The workshops are attended by a group of ex serving personnel and I photographed how they developed a sculpture to have exhibited in St Georges Hall in Liverpool. Even though I only spent a few hours with them all, it was an absolute pleasure getting to know them - and for them kindly ribbing me for living in Yorkshire and not Liverpool! I was asked to document the workshops, the details and the people. Thank you Bravo 22 and The Royal British Legion for such a wonderful commission.
LAND - a botanical and textile installation at RHS Chelsea Flower Show, created by The Plant Room and Laura Slater. It was such a privilege to be commissioned to photograph at the Chelsea Flower Show and especially for such a brilliant northern collaboration.
Eulogy - celebrating the lives, journeys and heritage of Leeds’ first generation Jamaicans no longer with us.
Photographs of various Eulogy events and gatherings organised and produced by Susan Pitter. A couple of events were held at the Jamaica Society in Leeds and I also photographed a writing workshop run by Colin Grant. I met and photographed the founders and chair of the Jamaica Society, the oldest Windrush passenger - Alford Gardner and many local people who were willing to share their story. What a privilege it was to meet everyone and take their portrait.
Dig Brew in Birmingham photographed for Guardian Labs/iZettle. A feature on independent businesses using the iZettle card payment.
Naomi Jane is a Blacksmith who lives in my small town in Otley in Yorkshire. When I heard about Naomi through a friend, I got in touch with her and asked to photograph her in her workshop which to my utter joy is a shed at the bottom of the garden. I couldn’t have asked for more either when Naomi came down the garden path wearing her slippers. A talented maker and such a great space.
Laura Slater’s new collection, Land. Photographed by me and styling by the wonderfully talented Nina Beresford “Spending much time exploring drawing, image making and screen-printing out in the open within the Landscape, this collection captures the essence of colour, movement, light and the natural surroundings in pattern form. “
A couple of days spent meeting and photographing various people in their homes for Connect Housing.
